Takhö is a marking characterized by bold, primarily vertical, hard edged stripes that originate at the topline and go downwards. The stripes do not need to touch or cross the topline. May have a subtle halo around the edge, as well as interchanging faded stripes. Stripes must be darker than the base, and may have a subtle fade into the underside of the coat. Stripes may have "V" shapes on the flank, chest and face. Stripes may taper down, but should have some decent width. A good rule of thumb is make the stripes at least as wide as the eye or ear of the horse.
